2014 V7 Racer for a 6'2 rider with 34 inseam?

Anyone here have a V7 racer and have similar inseam and overall height to me?

I've been looking locally for a V7 stone or special and hadn't even considered a racer model as they are a bit flashy for my taste.

However, one has popped up locally and it's a 2014 for a fair price. I did some reading and figured out I can remove the rear cowl and front number plate to make it look a bit less flashy. The chrome gas tank wouldn't be as easy to tone down but that's ok.

Now my concern is around riding position for someone my height. All the reading and videos seem to suggest it's still a fairly upright seating position vs a modern sport bike.

Has anyone had both the racer and stone/special? Is the racer that much more of an aggressive riding position vs the stone/special?

Would my height/inseam make it more or less aggressive?

Thanks
James

I'm 6'2" with 34" inseam. My wife is same height with a 36" inseam. She has a V7III Carbon Dark, which is basically the same ergos as the Stone. Its just a nice, neutral (standard) position.

The Racer has rear-set pegs, and lower bars. Personally, I would like the more aggressive position, but that's a subjective opinion. In my case, the more forward-leaning position is good for my back; my wife is the opposite - her back bothers her if she's leaning forward. I'm personally more comfortable on a bike with somewhat more aggressive ergos, but my wife is not. To each their own. If her bike was mine, I'd have rear-sets and clubman bars on it immediately.

I guess what I'm trying to say is... you might want to sit on one for yourself to decide.

James, many of the taller riders I know of actually prefer the lower bars and rear-sets of the Racer. The longer bar reach and rearward pegs give you more leg room. The Racer clip-ons aren't too bad. You should definitely go sit on it, and/or ride it if you can.

Thanks for the replies. I had a lower back surgery (L4/L5 lumbar fusion) 10 years ago so I try to stay as upright as possible. However, I'll go and sit on the bike and see how it feels vs the stone/special.

It's a great deal and has 0 mileage on it, but the ergonomics and the chrome tank might be a bit too much for me.

Thanks
James

Bring something to read and sit on it for 30 minutes....
I’m 6’ 2” and find the V7 III Stone quite comfortable,

I went a sat on a Racer at the local shop and I wasn’t leaning That far forward.

You can convert it to regular bars + clutch cable.
I’m not sure how the rearsets feel with higher bars ?
