The 2017 California Touring comes with the OEM sissybar but without a rack.

Per my understanding, if I want to add the OEM Guzzi Rack (Code B063992) I will have to remove the sissybar as the connection points are the same plus the passenger handlers are present in both the syssibar and the rack

Reading around here (thanks folks! Lot of useful info in this forum), I found that Hepco & Becker makes two options:
  • a rear rack (HB650.544)
  • a rear rack with sissybar (HB611.544)
I'm about to buy an heated Corbin seat (hello WA state!) and I'm debating with the option for a backrest for the passenger. As I'm not planning to put a trunk but I need a rack for a bag, I think I have one of the following options:
  1. remove and sell the OEM sissybar, buy a Corbin with passenger backrest + the OEM rack
  2. remove and sell the OEM sissybar, buy a Corbin with passenger backrest + the HB rack
  3. remove and sell the OEM sissybar, buy a Corbin WITHOUT passenger backrest + the HB rack & sissy bar
Is there an option where I keep the OEM sissybar and I add a rack (any rack from any brand) on that (which would be the cheaper option)?

If not (as I think that being the case :(:() does anybody have any opinion on which of the options above is better and why?

Thanks a lot!!

As far as I am aware there are NO racks that attach to the OEM rack (you could have one fabricated, Todd?). There have been cases of the OEM rack cracking, (possibly due to overloading, I don’t know).
The HB rack/sissy bar would be my preferred option, the Corbin I would imagine is comfortable but not a fan of the look personally.

Thanks @Robert Gibson, I really like the Corbin one. The only concern I have here is that if I don't have a sissybar I'm limited with the type of bag I can put on the rack... but getting the HB rack only (no SB) would allow me to get two backrests for both the driver and the passenger....
