Today I left for a ride bike ran fine I stopped for a few hours and when Ready to come back home at 9 pm. Now it runs on only one cylinder managed te get home rode for 45 minutes on one cyl. Exhaust so hot that I take the cases off the bike, it’s too late to check but wonder why this is happening, if someone knows about that kind of problem, help is greatly appreciated

If you have identified the cylinder that was running, Swap coils side to side and see if the other cylinder runs.

I have just started Stelvio and everything has come back to normal yet to road test, still wonder what happened

It most likely is the spark plug caps shorting on head cover if you haven't them out for better ones.
Good luck, most issues don't just go away but hide awhile.

Would that be a known problem on Stelvios, if so do I have to replace cap and wire or caps only and what is the source number, thanks in advance

John, it was the right cylinder I rode 30 miles on only one cyl. It was dark and wanted te reach home, did so and my question is what happens when riding on only one cyl. every thing ok since I fixed the problem

Yes, it will be OK.

since I fixed the problem

What? You have done NOTHING to fix the problem. You still have an intermittent failure that will return again I promise you.

You need to identify the issue which I believe the previous poster who suggested shorting plug caps.

Again, SEARCH is you best friend here.

You may consider to pull the connector off the injector next time it happens
1- you know which cylinder died
2- you don’t burn the additional fuel in the exhaust and you don’t wash the cylinder walls!
3- Self-healing usually does not occur.. trace and fix the problem!
(Carbon bridge in Spark plug may fix itself but it’s rare)

Scott, the morning after before starting the motor I removed the cover and pushed spark plug cap and R/L and then started the engine it is ok since then, next move is search for new plug boot (2)

In the early days people slipped a zip tie under the boot to pull them up. A screwdriver used as leverage will damage them. They screw onto the wire they aren't just pushed in. I'd pull the caps and cut a 1/8" off the wire and re-screw them in. Then possibly your problem will be solved.

Zip tie seems to give good results without damage,
