My V9 is a 2017 but i bought new in 2021. The other day, riding along at about 20 MPH it just died - like I had turned off the key. No lights, no nothing. Dealer now has it and hasn't found issue yet. Battery, connections, etc. all fine. Any thoughts?

8.20.22 Update: Dealer found the problem. Failed ignition. Trouble is, it must be ordered from Italy and it's August so they're on vacation and it's not in stock so there goes my summer. Just FYI. At least they found the problem which is more than the Honda dealer could do with the last Honda I had which is why I traded it at 63,000 miles: it wouldn't run.

9.12.22. Update. Got the bike back. New ignition. New keys. Unfortunately, the old keys, including a $50 extra key I purchased are no longer any good with the new ignition. So although the warranty covered the ignition replacement a) I had to wait a month for it and b) I have to buy another $50 key if I want an extra to go with the 2 I got with the new ignition. I always keep an extra key at home and an extra key in my wallet in case I lose a key while on a trip. It has happened. Hopefully the bike will run trouble free for a while. So far 1) a failed rear seal in the drive and 2) a failed ignition system. The bike now has 7052 miles.

Read this thread.

He had a damaged component on his ECU which behaves just like yours, sudden death. It’s a possibility.

Good luck sorting the bike out Fred, and thanks for the link Scott
It sounds macabre, but I find reading threads like this beneficial.
If some thing similar befalls me hopefully my brain will remember and point me in the right direction

I have the same bike so sure interested. Report back with the results.

Guesses range from a simple electrical connection or relay to the ECU failure. Plugs should fire and injectors injecting. The dealer should find it. Stories like this make me appreciate my old magneto bikes with points and condenser. This electronic crap is too often just that.

By failed ignition, sensor, coils, ECU? Inquiring minds want to know.

If by this you mean ignition switch, see;
