Normally we keep that feeder full for the Gold Finches. But this year they must have been chowing down elsewhere because we didn't see many and it took the whole summer for them to empty it. The Gold Finches are gone now for the season and no other birds use that feeder so I haven't refilled it. Actually, it will be coming down soon for the winter. The other feeder gets filled with black sunflower seeds and it gets visited all year. The squirrels like that one too. They hang around the ground under it to pick up the seeds knocked out by the black birds. We have lots of deer this time of the year to eat the crab apples that fall from the tree. Though you can't see it there is a major creek running behind that shed in the yard. It attracts turtles, ducks, fish, minks, snakes, and the occasional moose. Considering we live inside the city limits, the wildlife is pretty diverse.
