Good afternoon all my Guzzi Guys and Gals,
First time poster, long time lurker. Very new to the Guzzi scene w/ a 2020 VIII LE Racer (pics forthcoming)... yada yada yada...

I was about half way through my 1K mile service, replacing the fuel filter when I got the surprise of my day: What appears to be a half way decent filter not made of plastic! Shocked, I snapped a couple photos...

Is this something to do w/ the LE? Is this new to 2020's?

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that this one shipped with a better fuel filter, but getting that tank and sender off with the tight evap system is a solid 6 out of 10 on the PITA scale, haha!

Additional thoughts?

Congrats and welcome... and yes, a pleasant surprise! I haven't been into one yet at my shop, so noted! Thanks for the post. Look forward to your post on the Registry next. Enjoy it!

It's about time. Those half plastic ones have been failing for what, 15 years now?
But Guzzi can be a bit slow to react sometimes.

By the way, those half plastic filters, the KL150, were designed to be used with diesel fuel according to Mahle Customer Services in the UK.

That's great news!! Makes it less likely that new owners will be stranded at road side as I was 1000 miles from home, on a fly/ride and only 1200 miles on a 2 week old V7 Special. Even though I was about 250+ miles from the purchasing dealer, Hamlin Cycle in Bethel Ct., they came to fetch me and the bike. They are the best, THANK YOU Jim!!

Paul
