Hello all,
Just got this bike 2 days ago and it says it has this installed. Or at least it makes you think it does on the dash and in the manual. When I turn the key it has the Data link with smartphone icon as well as in the menu says bluetooth paring and reset. How in the world do you pair a phone or use this MIA device. No one anywhere has any idea.
Thanks !
Joe

What the hell...

Don't any of you guys get an actual Customer Delivery Session with the dealer when you buy a new motorcycle?

The MIA is an OPTION. If you didn't buy it and have it installed, then you don't have it. The dash has all of the indicators but the unit is not a standard equipment item.

FWIW, even though it is an option on most models of V85TT (standard feature on Travel version only), the connecting/pairing and use processes are explained in detail in the owner manual. My dealer did go over a detailed check list and explain features of the bike, maintenance needs, and break-in recommendations. I am sure they would have helped set it up if my bike had been equipped with the system. It is unfortunate that many dealers do not take time to do this.

Although I don’t really need it, I am considering the MIA unit because of its integration with the handlebar control switches.

There are several threads on this forum with discussion and information about the MIA system—please use the search function.

Have you done a search? MIA is covered in this section.
Yes, I dont know the best search terms. I get this...

Oops! We ran into some problems.

The search could not be completed because the search keywords were too short, too long, or too common.

And when I get more specific nothing comes up for V7s. So lets say I buy the box for $200ish. Where does it go?
Thanks!
Joe

As with everywhere I ask or check there seems to be no info on this. Maybe its a USA thing, Ill go to the dealer at my 900 mile service and maybe find someone who knows and can point out where it would plug into. I do really love this thing.

The documents are available from within the phone app which you need to download from the App store. Search Moto Guzzi in the App store. It's the Lifestyle app.

I've posted the PDF from the App below as an attachment. You may need to adjust your screen display size in order to read it.

Seems pretty straightforward single plug. I would assume that the location is very similar on the V7 / V9 / V85 platforms.

Thank you for this, ive gone through this a few times. Went to the dealer where I got my new bike from and they tried for about 15 mins on a different new model on their floor to see what they could find out. Same as mine. Tells me I dont have that box. Ive take apart most of my bike to see if I can find a plug for it but cannot. Must be buried behind the battery or somewhere else. Ill get it figured out at the 900 mile service. Already at 450 miles.
Thanks again,
Joe

Amazing thing happened, I called a Moto Guzzi number in New York and a person answered immediately. Answered all my questions and is going to send me info on where the box should be ( I do not have it) and maybe where to buy it. Sold out everywhere.
Thanks everyone.

Ok, so how about sharing this information so the next person can read it?

Give back to the well where you tried to draw water yourself.

That’s the WHOLE idea here!
