a quick question guys.

Im not sure if maybe im noticing it more but my gear shifts seem to be getting a bit snappy.

Not as much as my sportster lol, but I remember having a hard time hearing if I shifted gears on a demo viii.

Maybe I’m shifting to quickly? Could it need clutch adjustment? Most time throwing it into neutral is dead silent. Sometimes it snaps.

Right now there’s about 3mm play at the lever. The manual calls for 2mm. I’ll play with it some more but it seems alright.

Another think I noticed is when I’m going down a long hill at 60km/hr and I try and put it in neutral for a nice coast. When I get the gears down to 2nd or first (in order to get to neutral) the tranny seems a bit jarring. Is that normal?

get closer to 2mm...I find you need most of the travel of the lever to properly disengage the clutch completely.

Honestly, as long as you have some free play and the clutch isn't slipping when you let go the lever, it should be fine.

as for Jarring, as my is a 5-speed, don't know how different feel it is to the 6-speed, but my 1-N-2 gears likes to grab...even when I release my clutch slowly, but nothing traumatic that it wants to throw me off the bike.
