Is anyone making valve cover protectors for the new 8- valve motor ?? Ive seen the roll bars that Guzzi has on the TT but was wondering about some guards to bolt on the valve covers themselves.

The problem with that is that the valve covers are only retained by 4 x 6mm screws and these hold the cover down onto the rocker carrier and cam bearing 'Scafolding' under the cover itself. In the event of any spill there would be a very high likelyhood of mashing a lot of important stuff as the screws ripped out, as they would be bound to do.

It should be remembered that the correct term for the protectors on the pushrod bikes is really 'Rocker Protection Bars' They won't really save the rocker cover but if you slde a ways when you crash and burn there is a lesser chance of actually wiping out the rocker gear.

The only thing I can think of that might actually help prevent fin and rocker damage would be some sort of crash-bars a-la BMW 'Adventure' (smirk!) bikes. But even so you'd have to find somewhere to mout 'em that wouldn't do stuff like impose case-cracking forces on the engine in the event of a spill.

Yeah, thats why the Guzzi bars look like the only choice. Are those things actually available now ?? Seems to me that someone said Hepco B makes a set too.
