Things I have left to do to my bike when funding is available:

I am currently corresponding with GTM to purchase a set of the above shocks for my wife's Norge - she would benefit from the bike being an inch lower. I suspect it will come with a better ride as well. We have already fitted it with the factory lowered seat.

I like both bikes very much. My wife's feels more refined and I do find that the heated grips and additional wind protection are great for cold rainy days, of which we have a lot around here. I also have no issue riding mine with my water proof gear, no heated grips and zero wind screen in any weather. That being said, the above mentioned modifications make the grin factor on my bike immeasurable.

Happy New Year to all!
I have been reading up on the work involved in getting these bikes in good working order.
I feel reasonably confident in the work involved.
I think I will try and find and early 2V 1200 for about 3500 euros and start with the servicing of the swingarm and carc and then do the front and rear suspension.I should then have a reliable performer at a good price.

And to you! 2021 is a very special year for Guzzi.
This is the only major concern for the N12-2V machines; https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/early-norge-oil-pump-failure.6174/

I noticed that too.The more I look into this bike the more apparent the reason we don't see many here even in Italy:D
I have seen a 2008 model with 47000km for 3500 euros.I will have to find ones built from 2008 onwards, I think.

Mine -- an '07 built in November 2006 -- was one of the affected oil pumps. Catastrophic engine failure is exciting. :swear:

But, I am unaware of any documented failures of such with a build date after March of 2007, tho I recall anecdotal chatter of one with a May build date.

A friend of mine here in Italy having owned the Norge said that when engine braking before a corner the back wheel blocks.
Can anyone enlighten me on this.
Thanks again.
Simon

Couple of thoughts come to mind.
1) how high is the engine reving when the clutch gets dumped?
2) how hot are the corners being entered?

I have never had this issue. I do not consider myself a racer either. A friend of mine races and always thought me an nutter if I even sped on public roads. He considered the race track to be the only place to test ones abilities as you were safe from the unexpected and could tour the course to familiarize your self with the layout.

My wife and I ride to fully experience travel. If We are racing around, we are focused so intently on the road ahead we miss everything else around.

This I think is a bit of exageration on his part.He said that this is typical of shaft drive bikes.
I have a 900cc Triumph bonnevile which has good engine braking.I think all twins do.
