8V spark plugs torque

Is that a wet or dry torque spec? If dry, you're over-torqueing to attain the spec clamping. I do the same thread lube routine but snug it up by feel only.
12Nm should be the dry torque spec.

Judging from the spark plug gasket state of compression, I am not too worried about it.
On my G8VSE I originally tightened them to 12Nm (dry), but they tended to turn loose a bit after a few hundred miles. Now I tighten them to 14Nm (still dry) with no issues - have done so for the last 20,000 mi or thereabouts.

And, yes, my torque wrench is properly calibrated. ;)

I just put a set of new plugs about an hour ago (Iridium ones)...
Didn't use a torque wrench, f*** it! It's all in the elbow, lol.

The bike is due for the oil change and all but I noticed that it was running kinda unsmooth lately...
It's Tits now. :D
I believe that it's due more to the fact that the gaping was all wrong than the fact that I just installed new plugs.

Wish I had read this thread a day before I did the break-in service on my 8V Griso. I was lucky to get the threaded housing that was left over after it sheared off the plug out of my cylinder head. The other thing that made this a pain in the ass was that NO ONE local, auto parts stores, motorcycle shops (non- Guzzi) carries this plug. Special order. Or from Amazon in three days. Had to drive 70 miles to a Guzzi shop to pick up new plugs. And had just remarked 10 minutes before after doing the valve adjustment how "smoothly" everything was going. That's always a bad sign while wrenching!!
