A baby sister Breva 750 for Big Brother Norge

There's a bit of whine in fifth. I had a chat to the Penrite technical bods who suggested trying Transaxle 75. The Chief reports not much change to the sound, but a big improvement in shifting - smoother and less effort.

Have to report, that after adjusting the lever position on my Breva, a very big improvement concering smoth and effortless shifting is noticed. And that even without shifting the oil! ;)

Welcome to the forum, Greg, even if you refer to my man’s bike as a lady’s bike! Okay, okay I forgive you. Enjoy the bike. It is absolutely terrific. :)

G'day All,

Charlie its good to see another Ausie Moto Guzzi Couple, I will keep an eye out for you. I am at the moment looking at new forks and rear shock for the breva. Any reason for wanting Ikon??. Pipes are on trhe shopping list but it will probably be a staintune. Have you got any prices on the Ikon and Mistral??

There are reasons for changing the shocks for better dampened ones. The OEM's aren't exactly high-end shocks.
Besides IKON (yeah, I know they are proudly made in OZ nowadays :silly: ) you can find YSS and Wilbers, which will fit the B 750.

Well I finally got our camera back and I found the time to get back on the Forum. Kim's bike is going great now, the motor is freeing up after 4,000km added to original 3,000km with Kim getting about 360 - 390km from a tank in a mixture of 60 - 90kmh running. No trips yet as too busy on weekends.

We have put a Hepco Beccker Top Box on, which bought from Motorcycle Adventure Products near Brisbane for $608 inc postage.

This week fitted YSS G302TRCL to rear and new fork springs with 15w oil. Pd valves were sent but were the wrong size so not fitted. Bike is a lot firmer with no pitching front and rear. Tomorow we will adjust the compression softer.

Also fitted the Givi A760 screen and whilst it takes all the windblast of your body, there is more wind noise, but you can't have everything.

Here is finally some photo's.

A truly handsome couple indeed!Greg in answer to your question we will go with IKONs as they seem to be the most bang for the buck.Have a squiz at their site ikonsuspension.com.and they are made in Straylya. The exhausts, we looked about and found a Mistral cross over piece from Mario in W.A.and thought about Staintunes but Ive just finished a reverse cone mega style jobby for my griso that cost me $70 to make, but will buy new material(as opposed to coming from a scrappy)and make something for the breva. That way I can spend the savings on RacerXs PCV et al on my bike!

G'day All,

Thanks for the positive comments, they do look beautiful together. Kim still loves her little breva.

Charlie I am sure that the Ikons will be better than standard. The YSS are still a bit hard as maybe the spring could be a bit heavy and I have backed off the preload maybe 5mm and now they seem better. We will give it a workout hopefully next weekend as I will double Kim from our place in Maitland NSW to Coffs Harbour to pick up my Norge which is having some work done to it. So with us two on it for 400km it will loosen up the spring and shock.

Even with the shock being at least 10mm longer than standard I have still scraped the exhaust and the tang on the side stand, is this a common thing? I did not think I was going that hard!! But then I did grind my Norge's centrestand in half within the 1st 400km of ownership and most of the new Staintune pipe :woohoo: .

Nah.
It depends on how deep you go in the corners.

No matter what trick you have for getting back up, don't go so deep as to grind the fairing, you'll find it costs way more than a centre stand :silly:

Oh, and you and Todd should, erm, compare 'n match ;)

Better listen to this man talking. He's talking by experience. ;)

Oh, but I never compared or matched with Todd... not even in my dreams! :D

G'day all,

I never go deep, just ask Kim, but I still keep her satisfied B) .

Sorry I think I misunderstood the statement

Anyway I still have a big enough chicken strip onn the Breva that KFC would be happy to sell. On my norge I have none so I guess the Breva has much less of a clearance.

I have actually scraped the front of the fairing twice on the Norge two-up, but it was on compression of a big bump. I have not got to the point of scraping panniers like I have on my 1997 VFR750 Givi's :silly: :silly:

After 2 months I will actually get to ride the Norge as it is ready to pick up from Coffs Harbour. For those Aussies I think that we will go up thru Dorrigo to Armidale then down the Oxley to Port Macquarie for the night. Then back up the Oxley and down Thunderbolts Way and Home. The Oxley is about 50km of linked 35-55km/h corners, motorbike multiple orgasm.
