A study in simplicity....

I cannot help but wonder what the optional “Sports” handlebar on 2.25hp road machine looked like! Fearsome I’m sure!

:D :D :D

I would have loved to sit and share some "tea and sympathy " or maybe a wee dram with the owner to hear his stories about the motorcycle. What a great bike!

We watched it arrive at the café and it sounded lovely, with a two-stroke haze following it. I wished I had got it on video. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to speak much with the owner because we were set to leave for home.

I absolutely love machines of this vintage, especially when they are still being ridden and haven't been restored to museum standard. I find the simple engineering fascinating. The paintwork looked totally original and apart from bicycle LED lights for safety and a bicycle cable operated rear disc brake, it looked pretty much as the 1924 sales leaflet. We did wonder why it had such a large basket on the back, we were tempted to peek inside but thought better of it :).....

In a similar vein, the pictures below of well used and much travelled petrol-stained Brough Superiors were taken at an event in July. They were parked next to fully restored megabuck examples.
