Adapters for Givi Sideracks

I thought anyone looking for panniers might be interested in this. Twistedthrottle.com sells adapters for the Givi sideracks that enable you to mount Trax Alu-Box bags or Micatech bags to the Givi racks (instead of the bulbous Givi bags). The adapters are $99.99 and are made by SW-Motec (the same company that makes the Alu-Box bags). I believe the OEM bags are also Trax bags (they come in black or silver, 37 liter or 45 liter; it looks like the OEM bags are black 37 liter bags). So if you are looking for something like the OEM bags, which are unavailable as far as I know, you can get the Givi racks, SW Motec adapters, and Trax bags, as an alternative, and have basically the same equipment. The whole package cost me about a grand, including two sets of locks. The racks fit perfect; two of the holes in the adapters were a little off and needed to be drilled, but that was no big deal to do, and now everything fits perfectly. I think they also have adapters for the Hepco and Becker racks. Also, the adapters don't cause the bags to stick out any more than usual. So, all in all, the whole thing works pretty well.

I've been looking at that too, It looks like the Givi rack is even closer to the bike, so less wide. What is the width overall? Picture from the back?

I'll have to post a picture, but I can tell you it's basically the same as the factory setup (the left rack is right up against the muffler, and there is a space between the bike and the right rack, so both racks are the same distance from the bike).

I've seen racks on BMW's that hug the bike closer on both sides, but then you have to compensate by getting a bigger bag for the side that doesn't have the muffler on it. No matter what you do they stick out a bit.

When I looked into it, I think the Hepco & Becker std aluminium bags were the thinnest adventure type bags that could fit on the bike. Givi actually makes a really thin, small bag for cruisers, but I don't think it would look good on a Stelvio. I've also seen Pelican bags that are pretty thin, but I don't know if there is a rack for them....
