    Pete Roper has photo documented the procedure, and even if you don't feel confident to make any adjustments half an hour remove and replace and 2 minutes checking with a set of feeler gauges will tell you if adjustment is needed without costing a cent, and then you can take it to your preferred mechanic for attention. Peace of mind is priceless! Here is Pete's opinion why it's important to check them regularly, especially during break in.

    Thank you for posting this. It was reassuring to have this reference when I adjusted my valves. They were set by the dealer tech originally when he did the cam retrofit, 600 miles, so I don't know his style regarding tight or loose but what I found at 6500 miles was the intake valves were spot on .004", half the exhaust were spot on .006" and the other two exhaust were .007". Gives me confidence to not check them again until the next service at 13,000 or so.
