I was able to get a few days off that would enable me to ride to my brothers on Hilton Head Is.
My question/issue is that I currently have @12,100 miles and a service appointment (20KM) next Friday. I will travel @1,600 miles round trip, what is the possibility of causing an engine issue?
Should I stay or should I go?
Thanks
Scott

Appreciate the responses. If I go, it only makes sense to leave early tomorrow morning. I don't have the filter or enough oil.
I am so tempted to roll the dice!

Ride and enjoy. Running over on an oil change is really a zero issue on synthetic oils unless you had 6k miles of stop and go traffic since your last change. Don't stress it at all. Run it low on the stick any way. Post some ride pics. p.s. I was just in HH last November for a Family get-together too. Enjoy.

I just had the service spanner pop up on my ride in N.Carolina, finished the trip and reset the code when I came back being I only had 3k miles on the oil change. I've only been to Hilton Head once but that was just to land and refuel on my way up to Spartanburg S.C. to drop a buddy off to pick up a fuel truck back in 1990

Nice Landing strip
“ looked like you were on the street “

2000/2500 kilometers more are not a problem. Modern syntethic oil can run much more than 10000 kilometers...
