Aftermarket Signals...

I have a tidy tail inbound for my Griso. I also have one slightly imperfect turn signal. I am thinking about going with some aftermarket LED's. Anyone done this? Do the common ones mount on the stock stalk up front? I dont have the tidy tail in hand yet but assume it should be easy to mount them out back. Was a resistor required to slow the blink rate down?

Thanks,
Ed in NJ

On my old 1100 I fitted motrax allycators, which looked ok and were much narrower. I didn't use the LED ones though.

I had a few dramas with the front ones, as the threaded stem wasn't long enough to go through the hole on the fork with enough on the back to get the bolt on. Eventually I used epoxy, trusting that once they were on, I'd never have to remove them...

I saw a bike at the Ace on Saturday with virtually the same indicators fitted, and the "anodised" finish was peeling off and looked terrible. Not to be recommended I fear.

I've just taken delivery of a 1200 se, the green one, and I'm thinking about Oberon LED indicators. Anyone have anything to say about them?

Hey Ed...

Did you ever fit the new turn indicators you were thinking about? I'm thinking to do the same...

I did not do it yet. I figured I would wait till I am at a show where I can get them reasonable. Mainly because mailorder is $30-40ish and Chinese EBay ones are $15ish but I would rather handle the goods before buying. Also I'm not really hung up on LED, any nice indicators will do.

Only one of mine is bad too, the metal that is molded inside the stem has pulled / ripped out of the plastic and it's impossible to fix...

I put Kellermann Micro 1000 indicators on my S.E. this week, not LED but halogen, and very well made.
You need the optional 40mm threaded stalks for the front, and the oblong adapter plates to convert the fixings to Italian spec.
A really easy job, and look way better than stock.
Posi-tite connectors are idiot proof and very quick.

Pictures please! :woohoo:

I am considering using the Rizoma indicators. The have a gizmo box that is included so it drops the voltage to 6 volts I believe. They are very bright!!! I saw a YouTube on them and they are much brighter than stock. The ones pictured spill light to the side as well so you are more easily seen from the flank.

What's not to like, they are available in black or silver and three styles. Another is available in gold, red, black, silver and I want to say blue anodized...

I think PJ's is a US dist...
