Is there a K&N or BMC straight replacement for the stock 8V air filter?

Been on K&N's site and seen no cross-ref.

Nothing at K&N.
Looks like BNC has one... link for info HERE.

Code : 373/01 - BMC REPLACEMENT FILTER

No big surprise, looks like it crosses with:
APRILIA: RSV 1000 R - RSV 1000 R FACTORY - RXV - SXV - TUONO 1000 R - TUONO 1000 R FACTORY
MOTO GUZZI: GRISO 1100 - GRISO 1200 8V - GRISO 850 - STELVIO 1200 4V

Online Store @80.60 US$ HERE.

Incorrect. Edit: The Breva11/Norge/Sport12 use a tall round element. The Stelvio and G8V share the same flat version with the G11 linked above.

K&N AL-1004 seems to be offered as a alternative to the 373/01 - BMC so might be worth a look at ?

Good info. Someone will have to verify... info by clicking on pic below:

I believe the BMC filter mentioned is offered on Ebay at $69.35 in the US. Not sure if shipping is included but worth a look.

Well, both the tuners I visited in Germany said to toss or chop the
airbox lid and install a high flow filter.

I got the BMC, removed the lid, cobbled together some tabs to hold down the filter frame, and off I go.

1. Yes. There is improvement, markedly so.
2. No. Not the ultimate solution. Surging and popping continue.

Baby steps.

I've lost the blinkers on one side.
Let the games begin!

I've got a box of bolt-on CNC/powder-coated alum. perimeter hold-down, that replaces the air-box lid and exposes the entire filter... however, they are first being offered to those who are buying a PC-V/ECU swap kit to resolve fueling in the main section or direct HERE.
I will gladly offer them up if they don't all sell with the above kit.

Open-lid air boxes have a nice gain on the dyno on the older Calis, as shown below. Red trace is stock airbox lid, blue is open per above.

Yes I would be interested in the filter hold down if you have any extra.
Thanks,

I'll take one too please. pending availability and willingness to ship to the UK ?

Has anybody junked the whole air fillter set up and put K&N`s straight on the carbs?
You would have more room under the seat if nothing else!

Cheers for that Rebus, i dont know if i`ll do it though maybe over winter if i`m bord.
P.S Stafford`s changed since i was there last week and more sunny!!Spain was it?

I wish !Macroom in southern Ireland a couple of weeks ago, although sod's law Staffordshire was basking in a heat wave for the week while we only had one day without the full wet weather gear.

Thank god for that ! just ordered one with a hope that it just might fit . good work Klaas much appreciated

i have two concerns:

Does merely pressing the frame down seal adequately against fine road grit and moisture, as:

The filter is now sucking in air that is coming right off the rear tire via 1/2" gaps on both sides.

Would it be better to at least have a nice fat lip around the filter created just chopping the lid?
