Having at last sorted the wheel bearings, brakes, sprockets, chains and tyres on my'45 Airone. Airone 250 800x800
I am just about ready for the first road test. However the engine is reluctant to start, any ideas? Or is it me having the wrong starting technique?

Beauty, welcome to the Forum.
So reluctant meaning won't start, or just hard to start? Kick start is a steady motion of the kick-starter just past the TDC of the compression stroke. Assuming the fuel and carbs are clean, and you have a manual timing adjust on the bars, yes?

Reluctant as in hard to start, once it's been running for a while it starts fine, but leave it for a week and it's back to hard. Yes manual timing, some previous owner has painted two white spots, one on the leaver and the other on the body near the full retard position. Also I cleaned out the carburettor. I am going to wash out the clutch as per instructions I found here, as there a certain amount of both slip and drag which is not helping.
