Well it kind of looks like the VA-10, just +2. American-made Motus Motorcycles MST-01 1650cc Sport Tourer. Interesting technology.
The engine design—and at least its preliminary manufacturing—are by Katech, a Tier 1 GM supplier for 30 years. "When Chevy wanted a 505-hp/100,000-mile engine for its Z06 Corvette, Katech developed it," said Case. I spoke with Fritz Kayl of that firm about design decisions. He told me that Case and partners wanted an all-American flavor in a V-Four engine. That meant pushrod valve operation and a muscle-car-like "V-Eight look" for the engine. Because Katech has extensive racing (Corvette) and production experience with GDI (gasoline direct injection), that was a natural addition to the package. GDI delivers a denser intake charge that boosts torque.

I like it. I may have to take the hundred mile ride down to Birmingham and try to check it out.

Great video :D I just wonder if one of the designers owned a Guzzi at one time as they put the V in the right direction

I had to go digging. January 2010 is my first post on this, and here we are sliding into 2016 soon.

I finally got to swing a leg over one of these last Sunday, and ride one-on-one with a Motus employee. I have to say the motor is impressively good. It made my fully modded Stelvio feel like a 600 I-4 as to torque. I rode the 165 hp motor, and it had so much power, I can't imagine why even offer the 180 hp version. As for the bike, I didn't like the chassis or suspension. I rode the Touring model, and was told the other model (he rode) was much better set up with a lower bar that "made it a completely different animal." Smart move would've been to use that one as the demo. I'd really love to see Guzzi go this way, or I might have to figure a way to stuff this motor into my Stelvio.

Now Todd please finish the V7-V9 project & the 1400 MonoShock project before starting anything new......we're waiting

I still love the idea, and if they can get it all together, engine, chassis, suspension, looks, I think they will sell even at stupid money.
But it is so easy to get one or more of those wrong, and I am not sure they understand the target market. I fear they are too narrowly building the bike to meet a certain niche, without room to cover others. Building a bike that is easily adaptable to different configurations, Touring, Sport Touring, Sport...etc., would expand the range of potential customers for them.

Don't you worry. I am.

I'm with you Mike. When this surfaced, it made me go hmmm...

Replace the carbon with normal bodywork, and a better muffler position, and I would probably buy that.

Todd,

Motus had there production bikes at the 2012 Americade. They were offering rides to select people at the time. Very nicely designed bike overall, but way too much $$ to ever be go mainstream. Their best bet might be to license their technology to one of the big volume manufacturers.
