amsoil

I tried in in my Mk V LeMans. Found when I went to do a valve adjustment the valve train was dry. Switched back to fully synthetic Mobil 1. It leaves a good film of oil on the parts.

I have been using Amsoil in my bikes for years, no issues.
In fact while I pay less for Amsoil then I would for most of the other high dollar oils I actually prefer Amsoil as it not only seems to work well in practice but it seems to offer better viscosity protection then other oils of the same grade. They seem to under rate their viscosity grades (it is a self policed rating, companies can pretty much do what they want).

I'll probably get a bunch of folks telling me I shouldn't post here, but I feel it's worth the shot.
I too am going to eventually try Amsoil. I ama true believer in the product.
Why?
Becuse I own a 1996 Isuzu Trooper. The engine in this vehicle is world renowned for it's lifter noise, even on extremely well maintained vehicles, as mine is. You can read countless Trooper forum entries about the endless quest for a cure by everyone. All suggestions either not working much, if at all, or very temporary fixes.
On my last oil change on my Trooper, I switched to Amsoil. Ran the Amsoil flush, drained and filled with the recommended viscosity & that world famous lifter noise is GONE! Even when the oil gets a little low, it doesn't return. It's been 3-4 months now & still nice and silent. The mototr runs smother & I can almost swear that the anemic 3.2 litre has a bit more grunt too! I push that motor harder than it should & have taller tires w/o re-gearing the front & fear ends. No worries at all here.
So yeah, sounds like this should be in a Trooper forum, but since the Amsoil question came up, I thought I'd share my experience.

For one, we really, really, don't give a fuck about Isuzu Troopers here champ...
For second, I'll be the first one to tell you that your post ain't worth squat.

So did you or did you not use Amsoil in your Japmobile?
GTFO troll.

Bad day?......soggy Cornflakes this morning?
Ciao

Nope.
Perfect day, rode my bike a lot.
And I don't do cornflakes so you tell me...
I just don't like trolls but hey, maybe I should join the F150 Forums and tell them how great Motul oil is in my motorcycle

As usual oil threads get people hot under the collar

Well maybe...........

Pascal,
I for one dont think amsoil or any other oil is some sort of magic cure, but jeez man get over it its just someone point of view !!

...first & single post view that is - are guys being paid be firms to pro-troll around?

Maybe I should thank Pascal for cutting a long story short here but on the other hand I have a a slight too decent manners issue myself not feeling comfortably with raw attitude .... :pinch:

Come on guys...

How was that post relevant in any way, really??
The guy has a POS Isuzu... How is that helpful when it comes to a Moto Guzzi??
Besides, his post contradict itself, lol.

I'm with Pete Roper on that one... It is a tech Forum about freaking MOTO GUZZI, not Jap cars!!
We don't need trolls, self appointed know-it-alls, spammers and other BS artists.
I say the guy is a troll and I think I'm right, hence the attitude.

Well it made me laugh Pascal, I think our Greek friend may be right, that post bought to you by the good folks at Amsoil. :p

Wow! Sure are some sensitive folks out there.
Personally, I've been working on my temper & responses that aren't positive or helpful & only make myself upset or stressed out.
Going back and re-reading it now, I guess my post could be construed as irrelevant, being that it was not a Guzzi experience. Just someone expressing their experience with a product.
Live & learn I suppose.
What I meant by "I am too going to try Amsoil" was that I am going to try it in my Guzzi on the next oil change, because of my positive experience with my Trooper.
OH CRAP! I said it again!
There is no contradiction in the post, unless I used improper grammar.
As for being a troll or paid by Amsoil or SPAM, I don't know what a troll is when it comes to forums, though I gather they're not our friends. I don't work for Amsoil or any affiliates, nor was my post spam.
Man, i can't believe I'm even wasting my time responding to all that, but I am.
Still living, still learning.

Oil is a touchy subject. Always has been.
And for someone to come out of the gate, first post, and talk about their experiences with an Isuzu Trooper on a Guzzi forum as if it is relevant is pretty suspicious. If you don't see that, well....
Then for your second post to be 6 months later, and still not about your Guzzi.....
What Guzzi('s) do you own?

Understood.
I bought a 2012 Tenni Green Griso in June of 2012.
Saw one heading the opposite direction on the fwy & even from a far distance, I knew it was a Guzzi & the most beautiful bike I've seen in a while.
I was so excited, I even helped the dealer un-crate it when it was delivered.
Got me over the hump in deciding to get back into riding again.
Been riding since I was a child, but as often happens, there have been some dry spells.
Now I have what I've been looking for and so happy with it.
No mods yet, and maybe never, but I love it.
Scraped the sides off my boots this last weekend.
It's also helped feed the seed to get my super-moto back on the street, but this one I'm going to do some custom work to.
Thanks for the calm reply.
