RentAGuzzi Motorcycle Rentals & Tours – Los Angeles CA
  1. Ciao Guest, We've completed the split of this website from our custom bike builds and products to our sister site; GTMotoCycles.com. You may need a new username and password to get into the new GTM Store system - pending and past order info is available there. GuzziTech.com is now a secure site (https), and may require you to sign in again using your same password. We are back to our origins here with the Forum and Resources only. As always, zero tolerance on personal attacks and off-site links to other Forums or competing products. Note there's decades of Guzzi hands-on experienced help on this site, all whom give endless amounts of their time for free - be courteous. For those who are new here, the owner of this site (Todd - GT-Rx) has been immersed in Guzzis since 1999. He's raced and wrenched for two-thirds of his life, both Pro dirt-track and road-race, and contributed to Cycle World Magazine 2000-2007. He began Guzzi dyno performance modifying and fuel tuning in 2001, and has been wrenching them full time since 2007. His GT MotoCycles Performance and Service workshop has been open for ~4 years in Orange, CA. We do not have a phone number for this site or GTM, we're online only... do not ask us to call you. Click on the Service tab above for more info or to book an appointment -- it is not a retail shop to visit. If you're in L.A., you can come sample our work with our rental fleet - click the image link above. In a few short years GuzziTech.com will hit the 20 year mark of providing advice and tech tips for free. Understand that this is a privately paid for website, not a free social media platform littered with ads to help pay for it. Donations appreciated via the Account upgrade (see Site Support section below) or the Donate tab above, which unlocks all of the content here along with the Classifieds, Ask the Wrench sections and our seasonal discount notices. Thank you for all of the continued support and contributions.

Moto Strada, of Shipley, is no longer a Moto Guzzi dealer according to the MG UK website. I looked in today, and where, last autumn, there was nothing but Guzzis, there were now three V7lls, two bespoke V9s, an Audace, and a miscellany of used bikes.
Moto Strada used to do beautiful bespoke V7s (their website still shows them). I hope they'll still be able to do servicing, and offer customisation.

Bugger, I was going to call on them regarding a V9 customisation, i.e. V7 with an 850 engine, more legroom, and a bigger tank. There were few enough Guzzi dealers without them throwing in the towel. Now where?

Sounds like they will still be in business, just not a Guzzi dealer any more. They could still do your customising I imagine.

True, there are not many dealers that go that far with customisation. Knowing what bits fit from what bikes or how to modify them is not your average dealers forte. I shall pay them a visit, pity they are in such an awkward area to get to.

Awkward to get to? No, it's a pleasant twenty minute run over the Chevin.
Seriously, if you do come up, PM me. But check they're still operating as a Guzzi customiser before making the journey. I stopped by the other Saturday. No familiar faces, and the fellow there was a bit evasive. It may be that Bob and Mark were out to lunch, but if they (and their knowledge) are no longer there then your journey would be wasted.

Lads, have you been in recently? They exhibited at the bike shed show in London and have a new customised v7 for sale. I'm considering buying one if their custom bikes but they seem very expensive? The v9s have been there for over a year and are £10k/£11k. You can get a newish v9 for £6-£7k. I'm not knowledable but £4-£5k seems a lot for the simple customs they are doing (paint, seat, pipes?) thoughts? I went in this time last year to buy one (all way from Bristol) but there was no one apart from a cleaner in the place? And it rang to say I was coming and bringing my wallet. I'm hunting around for MG customisers but there doesn't seem to be anyone left? Corsa Italiana in Surrey went bust last Xmas. Any ideas?

I went in about a month ago. They're no longer a Guzzi agent, but are still doing servicing and customisation.
They'll probably be receptive to negotiation on price.

They seem to be winding their business down - when they moved out of the big showroom, I thought that they'd gone altogether until I realised that they were now in the much smaller unit.

Called, spoke to bob, said i want to buy a bike or customise mine. He said mark would call back. Week later, no call no response to my email. Also reached out to them on Facebook and via eBay. No response either. Shame. Any other suggestions for customisers?

They’re not listed on the Guzzi website, and their own is untouched since last summer. I’ll look in when I’m next over that way and find out what’s what.

They’re no longer a guzzi dealer.
Moto guzzi wanted them to stock the full range of bikes not just the V7 that they were making bespoke bikes from.
Problem is that nobody buys the California’s and very few buy the V9’s

A great shame really and guzzi should change the way they work with dealers to keep them going.

They built some great bikes including mine.

Via moto in Sheffield are the nearest I know of now for service and sales.
