I've been riding recumbent bicycles for a number of years now and some of what he references is true, for bicycles.
One thing about my current recumbent is how low it sits, this makes it much harder to see me if I were to be riding on the street. On the other hand, the upright seating position (like I'm sitting in my recliner) makes my view of the world unparalleled.
Currently both of my recumbents have above the seat steering but I did have one (for a short time) with under seat steering. While I liked the wide open view, I never felt like I was all the way in control with my hands so low beneath me. I've seen a number of 3-wheel recumbents with the joystick controls like in the video but I've never tried to ride one. I'm not a fan of being so isolated from what the front wheel is doing as having those sorts of controls will require some linkages.
I have always wanted to try a Gurney Gator though.
Dan Gurney made a very interesting recumbent type motorcycle called The Alligator. He made only 36 at a cost of $32,000 each.
I can only imagine what they're worth now in this Covid inflated world of collector vehicles.
I just saw a bare shell of a '69 Charger with a 383 sell for $42,000.
