Anyone done a cross-country on the 1400 Tour?

I'd be really interested on how the Cal 1400 Tour performed on a long distance ride of over 1,000 miles, or longer.

One up, two up? Mileage? Issues or problems? Overall weather protection? Ergonomics and leg/foot comfort? How did the stock seat hold up after days in the saddle? Overall comfort? How well did cruise control operate?

Thanks

My 1400 has upgraded rear dampers. Originals had inadequate rebound damping for two up touring and the compression damping was single rate.
I have the Lafranconi Sport pipes fitted.
I had Todd reflash the ECU and I have installed the PC-V and Autotune 300. I installed the GT-Rx crossover replacement. I have an open-lid air box. Idle to 2000rom is now smooth and strong. Performance overall is stronger.
I fitted the 60 litre top case and a Corbin seat.
I have recently completed a 2,500km road trip with my 78 year old mother as pillion. Bike is at 8,000km.
Issues: Final drive oil leak. Swapped out under warranty.
Fuel consumption two up and loaded is around 40 mpgUS. (Easy touring, 100kmh limit).
Handling is neutral, secure, easy, fun, smooth. On unsealed roads the bike is surprisingly easy to ride.
I added a Laminar Lip and lower screen deflectors to smooth out screen turbulence. Weather protection is fine.
At 179cm, the ergonomics are all-day comfortable for me.
Cruise control is a one button affair which works smoothly.
The strong bottom end makes starting off uphill, two up, from rest in traffic, easy.
Touring performance is grand and enjoyable.
I have 100,000km on a 1200GS two up, and the 1400 is the more enjoyable ride.
The lower CG helps, but much of it is because the Guzzi is fun to ride
when you are taking it easy, while the GS was happier when you pushed it along.
The fat, flat torque curve means gear choice in the mountains is not critical.
The sound with the sport pipes starts out fabulous, becomes Chev V8-like in the midrange
and glorious in the top end.
The elastic engine mounts keep the bike silky smooth at all rpm - vibration is not an issue.

Ohio to the northern coast of Nova Scotia. About 3,500 miles in 10 days. No passenger. My bike still has the stock suspension and seat. The suspension needs a lot of work but for a road trip you can live with it till the funds free up for improvement. That is my plan. I have about 9,300 miles on mine now. THe original tires wore out and the Metzlers I put on has a worn out rear but the front looks like it will go another rear. I added heated grips, windshield lowers and the 50L trunk. The latch for the handle on the trunk has decided to quit. The rest of the accessories are working fine. The seat is fine for me and at 5'4" the windshield actually works.
