Audace Front Brake not very smooth

When coming to a stop using my front brake only, as the the bike slows down to a stop, it seems like the caliper is not grabbing smoothly, it pulses a bit and causes the bike to jerk up & down from the front fork. I noticed there is an open recall on this bike for the front calipers, does any one know if that addresses this problem? It almost acts like the rotor has a warp or hot spot, but the bike only has 4700 miles....
 
Try also to scrub the rotors with ScotchBrite to eliminate the possibility of uneven brake material deposits. Sometimes city riding can do that. Or if you're brave, keep some pressure on the brake while riding at speed to heat it all up and see if the brake still pulses after that. This is in the category of 'know what you're doing' :)
