Hi everyone,

Just wanted to get some opinions of those who own or have riden the Audace.

I absolutely love the bike but just want to know if it'll be reliable and worth the price. I'm torn between the Audace and Scout bobber, however information online is quite limited on the Audace so wanted to get your opinions on it.

I own a California 1400; same bike, different handlebars, seat and floorboards instead of pegs.

I have found it to be very reliable. I have taken a 9000 mile ride (over three weeks) and several other 2000 to 3000 mile rides (over a week) aside from many shorter hundred mile rides. Only problem encountered was broken exhaust at the crossover pipe. This is a known problem on the 2013, 2014 models. The crossover pipe weakness was solved by installing the GTX H-Pipe (Todd sells it here on the "store"). I am currently at about 28000 miles with no issues besides this.

I am unsure as to whether this is a problem with the Audace as I have not read anyone claiming they had an exhaust breakage problem.

Buy what you like best. Both bikes are nice.

Two different animals. I have extensive time on both bikes. If you are of smaller stature, the Scout might be a good choice. Great engine (hot running though), and I’d call it more of a <100 mi machine as the ergos and fuel range dictate. The 1400 Guzzi is much heavier, has longer legs, and is something you’ll likely never tire of if the size and weight are good for you. Read up on the small niggles with the 1400 here so you won’t have surprises, and my GTM fuel kit and exhaust offerings give impressive gains and allow the engine to run massively cooler.

Edit, also see today’s timely post; https://guzzitech.com/forums/thread...hread-add-your-bike.11538/page-21#post-159611

Hope that helps, best to you on your choice.

had all sorts of bikes over the years, Virago 535 (after my test) and 750, VFR 750, FZ600 and FZ1, but I've kept the Audace longer and ridden (2x) more miles on it than on any of the others. I barely commute on it at all (I live too close to work), I just love to take it out and ride just for the hell of it - nowhere in particular, just being on it is enough of a thrill when the sun it out. The character of that engine is fabulous and it's super smooth above say 2500 rpm. I'm 5'8" and have no problem getting both feet down, but the original 2016 straight drag bars were a bit of a reach - 2017 model bars had more pull back. It's not really a city bike (too heavy and a little unwieldy at crawling speed) - but loves the open roads and carves really well for such a big bike. I'm keeping mine as I don't see anything else out there that I would swap it for. Can definitely vouch for the fuel kit from Todd to smooth out the fuelling at low revs. Make sure you get it for a good price - lots of discounts on 1400s new and 2nd hand. Been totally reliable so far

I own an Audace and I love the bike. My only problem with the bike is the seat. I can only last about 90 minutes, and thats pushing it. At about an hour, I am usually looking to stop for a break, but I can make it 90 minutes, but its brutal. Other than that, its a great bike. I am 6'2".

I demoed the Scout Bobber at a Indian dealership demo day. That bike is crazy fun/scary. Because I am so tall, I can only sit on the back half of the seat. I've been told there are other seating options for the Scout that would fit me better. This would be a great second bike for me, but I don't think it would be my primary.

Which fueling kit did you get? Low rpm fueling is my only gripe with my Audace.

Own the audace carbon. Way more comfortable than the old audace because of the new handlebars. Owned the first audace too and liked it aswell.

Biggeat distance i've ridden was slovenia - switzerland in one day, 10h. I like the original seat.

Girlfriend has the scout bobber. Lovely little bike, almost to small for me at 280cm. And i don't fancy the leg forward position. My guzzi has more character, the scout bobber runs very smooth. Oh, and the shocks on the indian are a joke, but that's tge same on every old school styled bike.

You have probably made your decision by now but...
I have owned a 2019 Audace Carbon for 5 months now and I enjoy every moment riding it.
I only struggle with moving around in my small garage, its a beast to man handle weighing in at over 300 kg.
As for the Scout, as others have pointed out it is a totally different motorcycle, certainly has ample power given its small stature and lower weight and much of a commuter than the Audace. For my money the Audace is a better all round motorcycle with bags of character.
