As many of you know, I have been unable to ride for quite some time now as I've had to tend to my wifes health issues. She is recovering nicely and it is time to ride again.

After an extended ride on a Stelvio, I decided that was to be my next bike. I love the Stelvio! Unfortunately, for reasons I won't post here, it seems I was unable to purchase a Stelvio despite the fact several are available in California.

Long story short, I now have a new Triumph Tiger.

See you guys out there, Roger

Glad to see you on the road again. Good second choice. I like the Tiger. Just not sure I could get used to the extra pulse in the exh note.
Cant believe if there are Stelvios in stock that you couldnt buy one. Did you piss someone off?

Perhaps. I won't post here however I will discuss with you the next time I see you.

Well, you're still in the Euro family, so all is good... congrats! What happened to the Benelli? Better deal on the Tiger(!?)?

Look forward to seeing you out and about soon.

Price, I'll post for him... none of the moronic dealers here in SoCal (largely L.A./N. San D.) were smart enough to move one out the door at a fair price. I guess they'd rather pay flooring, looking for the next sucker like they have in the past. Though, those I have spoken with in the last year who didn't know any better, say they won't ever let that happen again. I'm guessing Roger paid thousands less then MSRP (in this economy).

Good pull of the trigger Roger! I`ve been lusting for a Tiger for two years now for long travels etc. I know they are about $5000 less than a Stelv and as much as I love Guzzi`s I understand completely. Want to hear all about it email or otherwise !

Happy riding, Bill R

Hi Bill,

The Tiger has a great motor and fantastic brakes. The ergos are excellent, the "sit up and beg" position provides a commanding view of the road and traffic.
Forget this bike if you have any off road pretenses. it is not A BMW GS. The closest bike it could be compared to would be the standard Ducati Multistrada or perhaps a Suzuki Bandit or even an FZ 1. My only complaint is the suspension... in its stock form, the suspension works well for commuting. Anything more than that, it is by far too softly sprung. I will correct that shortly.

Welcome back Rog.
I was hoping to talk with you Sunday, but got there too late.

I dont have much brand loyalty to anything.
If it feels good, I get it. ...and from the sound of it, la tigre feels good to you, so congrats on the new cat!
