I've got a V7 special that i put away for the winter. Before I did I had the ECU remapped by Todd (which was the single best thing I had done to the bike) and also put some Mistral exhausts on the bike. I never liked the sound (too loud and raspy) but do not want to get new ones because of the cost and love the way they look. I was hopping someone had some advice on what I can do to change the sound. Would aftermarket baffles work?

My Mistral (for a 1200 Sport) has a removable db_killer which is inserted from the (exhaust) end. Perhaps these are a optional item that needs to be included with the original order?

Or are the db-killers already present, and you want it even quieter?

I never removed the db-killers. It's not necessarily the loudness. It's the sound.

I'd rather try a baffle before I lengthen or straighten anything.Lowering the sound would be a step in the right direction.

If you make any change(s) to the exhaust, including baffles in or out, you may have to re-map the ECU to compensate. Ask Todd.

If you do not wear earplugs, start doing so. Maybe you won't need to change anything!

Have you looked inside of the pipes? I wonder if there is some sort of packing you could put in. As far as I know you are just wanting to slow the expansion of the exhaust gasses as they enter the muffler. Is the Mistral straight through? Or does it have a honey comb in it?
How do the db killers attach?

Nothing I can do now. The bike is stored till April. just doing some research

the db killer is attached with a screw
