Battery Tender - Good Choose?

May I ask why?
Sure!

Because I got it for free. (It came with a scooter that I bought).
But it turns out that I use it (preferentially) on all of my bikes.
We have a few chargers floating around (including one of the ones you linked to) and the Tender Plus somehow seems to be more convenient, intuitive and confidence inspiring, so it's the one that gets used. I might even replace it if it ever broke despite have a handful of others around. ; )

OK, good points.

Thanks

The tender plus is definitely the better charger. However, I've learned that no tender should be left on continuously. Either on a timer for 1 hour/day, or 24 hours once a month to keep batteries in top condition.

Good to know, from most of what I have read, most people just leave them plugged in 24/7.

Does this one work by the dongle under our seats or do we need to use the red black to attach to the battery?

Also, the better one is a 1.25 amp charger, the cheaper one is only a 0.75 amp charger.
Not only will that allow it to charge the battery faster, I find that some batteries like AGM batteries seem to like the faster charge.

I would opt for the 0.75Amp one as it was build for smaller battery such as for motorcycle/ATV/scooter.

1.25Amp has potential to fry the battery.

As for Deltran, you can use the larger Amp one no issue. Most the frying came from tender NOT shutting off and/or switching to maintenance mode.

The Deltran Battery Tender Plus has smart voltage management and won't fry anything. I've been using their products since they went into business an eon ago, on everything from dinky little 8ah batteries to big bruisers in my cars ... never a single problem. :)

Morning All;

I am planning to get a battery tender to take care of Silky's juice needs. Is this one a good choice?

Hi Maya,

I use this the BatteryMINDer® Model 1510. Actually, I have an older model, but the 1510 is the same in operations. This charger is designed to be always connected (except when riding ;) ). Using one of these on my bikes for the past 20 years, I have never had a battery problem or failure. I DO replace my batteries every five years because I think I should, not because they have shown any need to be replaced.
