Since French is rapidly becoming a 2nd language here, and Google's your friend:

Big-bore and water cooling give 1420cc, 134.6bhp @ 7100rpm and 14.6daNm max (and more torque from 2200rpm onwards than many a hypersport).

But what's that engine - the article says it's the 2v 1100cc Griso motor, but it's clearly a roundfin, so it must be much older. Something they've been developping in-house for quite a while now, probably?

Whatever, this looks better than all of those new Dukes together!

Ah yes, the Mille Percento Big Bore 1 -- 2-valve, water-cooled heads. Same powerplant that Guareschi used in the Daytona winning MGS-01. Ghezzi (orginally of G&B, then Guzzi S.p.A) was highly involved in this bike's coming to be.

Our friend Claudio (LongWalk.it) kind of worked/volunteered at MP for a short time before he left for his big trip here, and told me all about it. It is a model that they hope to market on their own, much like Bimota does.

The power sounds mighty fine to me... but the Euro to USD makes it quite  .

Well don't worry the € is on a slippery slope and has lost a huge lot since this summer... back tne it was $1.58 to €1 and now it's down to $1.24!!!

Anyway that bike looks GREAT! Only thing is that we, (in France) are doomed by this stupid 106hp max rule which just kills the bikes with huge power. SO no need for us to dream about those beautiful engines because they'll be castrated by the time they reach our dealers...

Todd, I thought that that MSG-01 was equipped with a a 4-valve DOHC engine, and indeed that's what the French text states?

Wonder: we could also hope (ok, dream) for that souped-up small-block engine that draws around 100bhp from say 850cc ... I'd like that, wouldn't you? ;)

In '06 Guareschi came with a 1225cc 4V MGS-01, a year later he arrived with below (BB1 2V):

Growing up in the land of big motors, I actually prefer large(r) displaced twins, with great torque at lower rpms (<5k rpm), yet still produce good power when rev'ed, ala Guzzi. Revs=power, and no doubt a 850 could make 100hp... just the Japanese have been taking care of the for the last 10+ years. ;)

I love the way they put the red Guzzi logos on the valve covers to disguise the motor.
