Hi all, my Bellagio header pipes tend to color gold on the bends and I am under the impression that means a good state of tune, in as much the heat from the exhaust seems about right.

    Is this correct?

    Chris.

If your headers turn too dark for your liking over time, and they are not "brushed", but polished stainless, a good round on a buffing wheel with polishing compound will return them to a chrome like condition.
When I bought my G-11 2 years ago, with 80K km, the headers were pretty discolored (also from bad fueling). They polished up nicely, and now, with 93K km, they are taking on that nice straw color that comes with time and clean fueling.
A bit of work to remove them, but well worth the effort if you want a fresh looking bike.
Some tool places will sell you the right compound for stainless (they are color coded).
