BORN BLACK EAGLE COLLECTION: THE ESSENCE OF CUSTOM IN THREE GREAT CLASSIC MOTO GUZZI Dynasty.

The Custom Series Moto Guzzi MY 2010, the legendary 1100 California eagle Nevada 750 through the sports Bellagio 940, are now available in new production Aquila Nera. Back on the tank the great eagle, logo history of Moto Guzzi, a new livery "dark" that enhances the mechanical and the classical lines of three legendary bike.

Mandello del Lario, September '09 - "Black Eagle", with this evocative setting comes a new production created for the 2010 MY custom Moto Guzzi.
It 'the first time that Moto Guzzi reunification, in a unique aesthetic and strong, a line of legendary models, witnesses to some of the most important stages of the evolutionary history of the brand of Mandello del Lario.

Moto Guzzi California is certainly the most famous among the custom Moto Guzzi motorcycle and one of the best known and loved in the world. Designed in the early 70s for the U.S. market has emerged in the five continents, universally loved because of his strong image and quality of its roads. It was made famous by its legendary reliability also accredited by the references of the NYPD (NYPD), who used her for over a decade, and for the supply, increased steadily through a continuous evolution of the engine, which was first raised from 750 to 850, then 1000 and finally 1100 cc.

Due to the success of Admiral in the second half of the 80 Moto Guzzi Nevada, a true bestseller in the production of Mandello del Lario was born in the dual capacity of 350cc and 650cc to consolidate its success in the 750cc-powered version to Fuel Injection.

The range of custom Italian is completed by the Moto Guzzi Bellagio that, unlike California and Nevada has an identity card hot off the press but a lot of brands: engine from 940 cc to short-stroke, double ignition, transmission CA.RC (Compact test strip) and six-speed gearbox. Content which, wisely agreed to a solid segment of the Bellagio are cycling the bike more sporty in its segment, because of its efficiency drive next to that of a naked.

The three queens of the road "Made in Mandello version in the" Black Eagle "share a concept color set on the presence of opaque black, called" Coal Black "is on the volumes of the superstructure, then the tank, side panels and fenders, both on the surfaces of the engine block. The dark finish so enhances the contrast of the metal, aluminum cylinder with thick chrome present where the focus is placed for ancient: wheels, exhaust system, bridge. All highlighted by the return, by popular acclaim, the historic brand Moto Guzzi, the one with the big golden eagle heads majestically over the Moto Guzzi.

Comparing the new range with previous versions emerge as major interventions have been made on California in 1100 that, as Aquila Nera, reworks the technical content of the famous Vintage but is expressed in a dress more sober and focused.
Maintains both the original construction of lavish generous footboards brightly handle both the passenger, but is lightened by some accessories such as motor protection, the Modesty, windscreen, headlights and additional luggage. The resulting reduction in weight compared to the version returns to the Moto Guzzi California Vintage Black Eagle superior handling and responsiveness to commands, as appreciated by those who love the more spirited driving. From a technical viewpoint, the California is the only confirms Moto Guzzi still in production featuring the popular corrective braking and with it the glorious Big Block 1064cc cc able to launch from the mighty flagship Moto Guzzi at a speed close to 200 km / h.

Going from the longest and the most modern, Moto Guzzi Bellagio approach shows much more sporty driving: sit back and low two-up on the rear wheel, advanced platforms and a spectacular handlebar drag bar, for a total control and domination the medium.
The distribution of loads, evenly distributed between the axles and the centralization of the masses, give the bike a better handling surprising that calls to deal more tortuous paths in the rapid changes of direction and discipline of a much more front loaded. The secret of agility and rigor of the Bellagio and starvation directional tubular steel twin cradle connected with progressive articulation single arm in aluminum that holds the compact reactive shaft drive. All this forms a system from the great structural rigidity, which returns an instant response to commands from the pilot.

To the great pleasure of driving the Bellagio contribute to the excellent performance of starvation by short-stroke twin cylinder 935.6 cc, which produces an output of 75 hp at 7,200 rpm. Power similar to California, but with a decidedly more sporty for those who want to, the adrenaline of an engine that is best expressed at high revs.
As the flagship there adjustable suspension, wheels with spokes and a powerful exhaust system chrome that highlights its high performance through sound exciting. One feature, the latter, which lacks even the smallest series "Black Eagle" is the Nevada 750.

Unchanged from the version presented in March 2008, which introduced important innovations such as the new exhaust system and new instruments, Nevada 750 "Black Eagle" stands only for the new livery on the superstructure and matte black for the logo in history gold heads on the tank. Nevada 750 "Black Eagle" is a bike designed for anyone wanting to enter the world with a Moto Guzzi motorcycle easy, by the great reliability and low operating costs. Powered by a 90° V-twin 750 cc, which has the speed of response and torque at medium revs its qualities most appreciated piece with a quality bike with Marzocchi front fork and the double shock adjustable at the rear. To secure the brake system, strengthened by a 320 mm front discs with opposed 2-piston caliper, aided by a 260mm rear disc.

New Black Eagle versions remain unchanged at the list price of Nevada and Bellagio, 7860 euros and 10,760 euros respectively, while for California Eagle Star, a 13,570 euro traded there is a saving of 3,000 euros, compared with the listing of Vintage version.

We're not impressed.

But if Guzzi can make money on a Harley-hype-redo; brush'm black and sell them at ridiculous prices - be my guest.
That'll probably save the production and development of real bikes. :D

Holt, agreed... I just posted the info. The flat black paint scheme is a decade+ too late, and as to the minimalist approach, they have the shiny bits in the wrong place... it just doesn't work well on such fine machines. The engine parts should be dull, and the paint shiny. The following pic is what made my decision to buy mine (the bike, not the dude);

The Minister recons they must have some jumped up kid with a marketing degree who has just started his new job with Piaggio and wants to show off his new found merketing talents.

Bling and badges a good machine do not make.

I like 'em, but I'd rather see Guzzi put together a road version of the MGS01 with the new 8 valve motor and transmission, and make it somewhat affordable or at the very least available.

Like "Field of Dreams"....

"Build it, and they will come..."

That will bring in younger riders that they could perhaps make brand loyal to Guzzi and buy them for years creating an entirely new customer base. The cruiser thing has been done to death by Guzzi. Time to move forward.

+1 It would solidify my next purchase.
