I have a new Bobber and the general alarm warning light flashes while the bike is off and parked? What does it mean?

If it's like my Griso it's a fake alarm light to "deter theft".
    OR
If you are a conspiracy type then they are trying to sell more batteries & light bulbs.
    OR
in the immortal words of the Firesign Theatre: "Throw a towel over it Pablo maybe it will go away".
Now, who on this forum knows who/what I'm talking about?

I had the Bobber for a while and now a V7, and they both do it. According to the dealer, it's normal startup functions. All my friends who ride my bike always give me a funny look whenever they ride it because they think they did something wrong. It also is talked about in the owner's manual.

If you have some black electric tape put a piece on it if it bothers you.

You could turn it off on the CARC models, not sure if this is possible on the V7/V9 models.

But why would you want to?

I think it's meant to deter theft like Trout mentioned. The dealer told me its normal when I asked upon initial pickup.
