Breva brake pedal

Would like to replace or possible just straighten out my brake pedal on a 08 Breva Sport. Has anyone tackled this and what is involved with removal? Looks somewhat involved. Mine is slightly bent inward and I thought I would like to correct this before full on riding season. The bent part is a different story.
 
Remove the return spring where it attaches to the pedal. Remove the pivot bolt being careful to note order of washers and O-rings.
Withdraw push rod from brake master cylinder as you remove lever.

Now you will have to work out how to straighten it but hold it in a vice as close to the pivot as possible and apply force as close to the toe end as you can.
I removed toe pin, replaced cap screw and used a large adjustable wrench. You will have to over bend it to get it right and remember to use something soft like wood or plastic between areas you hold otherwise you will damage the finish.

Assemble in reverse order making sure the push rod is correctly seated into the master cylinder.
 
Thanks for the above reply Fiat500. After looking at it it seems pretty straightforward but I didn't get very far. How does one remove the spring? If I take the screw out how will I ever get the spring and screw back in? Is there a tool I need?
 
No need to remove screw and there are special tools available.
There are also a few other ways to remove a spring like this and a lot of them end up with the hook of the spring going into your hand !

One way that works for me is to make a handle out of say a piece of wood, get a length of thin tie wire and tie off both ends at the centre of the handle so you end up with a good size loop.
How just put the loop onto the hook of the spring and pull to remove/install.

So simple yet just the perfect solution. Springs have always been a mystery/aggravation to me. Followed your suggestions and I now have a straightened brake pedal. Thank you Fiat500 and to this forum. You folks have been a tremendous help and answered many questions for this still learning back yard mechanic. I really like to work on and maintain my bike myself and with your knowledge you guys have made this possible. Shucks anyway.
 
I had to bend my pedal straight and heat was ticket. After removing it from the bike, I placed it in a soft jawed vice. Then heated the area where I needed to bend it while adding a little pressure to the vice jaws. When it started to move the way I wanted to I backed off the heat and gave it a bit more vice pressure until it was where it should be shape wise. Took all of 5 minutes. A brazing torch was the heat source. After the alloy cooled it looked spot on without any discoloration or vice marks on it.

Heat is your friend on cast alloy; keeps it from snapping!
