Excellent news, and another brownie point for MG. Their history of fixing this sort of issue has from what I can see been exemplary.

Witness the Breva CARC bearing recall, now this one and I am sure there were others that I can't remember.

All very well, as long as they can be certain that they have covered every affected bike.
With the CARC recall they did not, and those left outside the group have had far greater problems getting it fixed.

okay I'm new to this site and to owning a guzzi - could someone please fill me in about the CARC recall on the Breva. Should I be worried with my 2007 B1100?

Ian

As a 2007 it should be well outside the recall range. Having said that my 1100 Griso was outside the range too and that had a crappy bearing in it.

The good news is that it is still obviously a warranty item in the first 2 years so it will be no big deal. The second good news is that even when it does go tits you will find that the fix will be inexpensive unless you are a retard or very unlucky.

Found it :cheer: I knew I had it somewhere.

Here is the Breva CARC recall from MG, it lists the VIN numbers of the affected bikes, and has a good description of how to remove and replace the Carked CARC.

As many have established, however, that list of VIN numbers is by no means definitive. But it does seem to be restricted to bikes manufactured no later than 2006. Provided your bike is not one which has sat in a dealer showroom for a long time (as mine did), you should be OK.
