I am new to the forum and new to Moto Guzzi.

Just purchased this 2014 California with 2K miles on it. VIN ZGULVC001EM200088. I changed all the fluids, (except brake fluid) filters and checked the valves. I did add the red valve covers and my Garmin to the bike. I have done a couple of trips on it and have currently 3700 miles on it.

Just a quick observation so far, also owning an R1200GSA, the Guzzi is easier to do the valves on, but more difficult for the final drive oil change. Also, the air filter takes way more time to change than it should. The Guzzi has more passenger comfort than the GSA for sure. The only complaint I have so far if the diameter of the grips compared to the BMW.

Welcome to the GT Forum & Guzzi Famiglia. Many people seem to be making their Guzzis red heads. ;)
There are handful of Bavarian to Italian co-owners or converts here. I owned an airhead, oilhead and brick early on.
You will learn to see the benefits of the 90d V quickly, outside of the wonderful sound.
Since you have a Tour, I would recommend leaving the plastic trim ring off the rear drive, to allow easy oil changes without tire removal. Also, get a 180 profile tire on the back, and you’ll really love it even more.
Enjoy and hope you post often.

The air filter is a total pain in the arse. Guzzi service book only calls for final drive oil change every 50,000kms but the easiest way is just to do it every rear tyre change. Check out 'Grip Puppies' for simple way of increasing grip diameter.

my engine should leave Italy 9th September and be fitted the following week at the dealers. the current vin is ZGULC0002GM200382 I might have a new number with the new engine?
regards

I figured on doing the next final drive with tire changes. Thanks for that. I was looking to reduce the diameter of the grips though.
