Cal1400 REGISTRY & Pics thread - ADD YOUR BIKE

Well, I made a side trip with Triumph Thunderbird Commander but finally made it to the family! She came today.
Congrats! I’ve copied your post to this thread. Please add your VIN# & related for the first post of this thread. Hope to see you posting often.

NOS 2018 Eldorado , bought new this March . Absolutely love it ! Didn't take too long to make
myself a couple of replacement seats . The rear shocks followed suit and it's treat to ride on any
road surface . Making a backrest keeps my better half happy ;) . After all , she's the one that
talked me into buying it ! Serial number is a bunch of 0's and an 8 . Peter

Hello Neighbor!

Findlay, OH here. Sweet ride! I’ve almost pulled the trigger on the new Eldorado several times now but I have 4 other Moto Guzzis. LOL. It’s my affliction!

Welcome to the addiction!

What kind of seats and backrest are those? Beautiful picture.

Thanks for your replies . The seats were my first attempts at making seat frames and then upholstering them , quite
the learning curve :) . The backrest pad was from an old Harley (mid 90's) and I made a frame and brackets for it
after getting myself a TIG welder . Really liked the looks of the original seats , but an hour in the saddle and I knew
things had to change . Peter

Anyone here know who this was in NorCal? First white spray job I've seen Stateside. Definitely not a good trend of these things being crashed/totaled.

Looks great. Is that the extra wide windshield?

Careful, it's a slippery slope this Guzzi ownership thing. Heh.
Congrats and thanks for posting the info!
I'd skim the first page of posts in this section regarding things that come loose and crack. You'll enjoy it much more knowing and addressing them before they become a serious issue.
Enjoy it... sure you will.

I believe it is the standard windshield. I've tried to get measurements to be sure, but what I come up with doesn't line up with the specs given by Guzzi for either the medium or the tall. I'm not sure where they measure the dimensions from. Triumph specified from the center of the headlight area to the top, and across the widest point on the front of the screen. I also don't see a part number stamped anywhere, only the DOT certification.

2014 Moto Guzzi 1400 California Touring

VIN ZGULVC004EM112331

Engine Number AG 013412

Bought used from K&N Powersports in Tulsa, OK, on 8/13/2020 after an Internet search. 17,189 miles at time of purchase. K&N got the bike in trade-in, and the guy who traded it was the second owner.

Here's my bike outside of Shoshoni, WY on 8/29/20 on my way from Tulsa to Glacier National Park in Montana and then home to the SF Bay Area. No, those handlebars are not stock, but they were fine for the trip.
