yup, ive done a stupid thing (I think).
just taking the battery off my pals Cali 3 injection and i caught the end of my wrench on the "brain" box- only for a microsecond, but when i replaced the battery after charging, the fuel pump doesnt whirr when the key is turned on.
Have I busted its brain? or is it just the pump thats broken(though it was working when the battery was taken off.)
The tank was also drained but the pump is an external one.
any theories out there?
Gonk

Whoops- looks like its a maybe then, I did it the wrong way round!
Is there a way to tell if its bust apart from the fuel pump not working?

You will need to use the manual and the schematics in that manual to troubleshoot the circuits. You may be lucky, and it is a coincidental fuse or relay failure.

Hoorah- its mended itself, I took the relays out and gave em a shake, sprinkled some woofle dust on em- checked the fuses, and now it works ok?
Guzzi magic- its a weird science!!
Be advised I will use the correct method to disconnect my battery leads next time.
Had a few sleepless nights wonderin how i was gonna pay for a new ECU.

It is always better to be lucky than good. Glad everything is working. Probably just a bad connection at a relay or fuse.

Many thanks for your help John.
have a merry christmas and ride safe in the New Year.
