My bike was bought and brought over from Europe. The owners manual says to set the valves at .010 and .015 with an asterisk, USA version .05 and .010. Why the difference? The valves have been set at first setting and the valves are very loud banging away. Does anyone know the proper settings. What would be the fallout of using the USA version other than creating more heat and power? The numbers are in mm of course.

Europeans don't mind loud valves. Just set to 0.004 inch intake, and 0.006 inch exhaust.

Use the Euro specs like John said. The US stuff didn't work out and could burn a valve. Importer then only wanted to satisfy what riders heard, that's one reason they made the Hydro engine.
If you push down on the rocker against the pushrod to squeeze oil out of cam followers w/setting play it will be a better setting and quieter. Loud valves saves motors.

Thanks guys for the conformation on the valve setting I will leave them where they are at 0.10mm and 0.15 mm. I will go back in and try Steve’s suggestion and compress the oil out of the cam followers and then reset the valves. I have another issue that maybe you guys can help me with but I must start another thread, again thanks!
