Hi all,
My 2004 1100cc EV has started making a very loud tapping noise from the LHS rocker cover. It is the hydraulic tappet model. This is what I have done to date :-
1] Swapped the noisy rocker with a manually adjustable one but the noise did not go away. So have returned back to hydraulic.
2] Found out that my bike did not qualify for the recall to upgrade to hydraulic tappets as it was already the hydraulic version (only the non hydraulic versions qualified for the upgrade as I believe).
3] I have found an upgrade kit to convert non hydraulic versions to hydraulic versions which I am thinking will fix the problem as apparently the metals used by Moto Guzzi on the original hydraulic bikes do have issues due to soft metal surfaces of the cam lobes and followers.
Any assistance would be most welcome as I am very much "in the dark" here.
Thank you

You are completely confused about the facts. Almost all the hydro motors were to be updated and I think there were two different kits. Nobody converted solids to hydraulics.
Read the whole series shown above. FYI, John and V7 Steve are the real experts.
