Just got it firing!
Father in law has a 07 california vintage, it has a problem between 2500 and 3000 rpm. If you cruise steady throttle between 2,500 and 3,000 it's fine but if you try to lightly accelerate the engine will fall flat on it's face. If you if you open the throttle hard it's fine. She'll run wide open and pull hard through all the gears. The only time you notice a problem is when making slight throttle changes between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. He has removed the fuel pump, replaced the fuel hoses and installed an external fuel filter, but no change. Seems like a failing tps to me. Highway speeds land the tach right in the trouble spot and possibly the sensor has developed a worn spot there.
