CalVin to Cafe?

I'm investigating turning my CalVin into a Cafe -- I've had fun with the cruiser bike, but I prefer the cafe bike and I like building that style. I've already taped up the exhausts and installed fully floating wave rotors front and back. It's time to do the fun part -- body/paint/bars/rearsets!

Question -- where do I get a tank that has the fuel pump bits inside that resembles a LeMans tank? or Do you know where I can source a nice beater V7Sport/Le mans tank that I can cut to make it work? I'm good either way.

Has anyone seen the California "peanut" tank as a cafe?

Also, where do I get swan necks for the giant fork tubes, or should I go with "W" bars?

What would be the best rearsets?

Anything else you might want to suggest? Any pix from someone that's already done it?

Danilo, there's been a few done over the years, mine pictured below. It's a huge project (most have never completed). It took me about a year. Happy to answer any questions you might have, but the general notes are >HERE<

First question -- Tank? What's the best way to get through that?
My big issue is the FI. Want to make sure that the tank is has the pump, or?
2013-current V7 steel tanks have the pump inside.

New tank is 6-gallons, ~5.5 usable. I'll snap some pics of it on my current V7-11 project.

Hi Danillo.
Just my 2 cents worth,...... If you want to caffienate a California, go for a Jackal. Less stuff you have to take off and trash, and a Jackal would probably be a cheaper starting point. On the other hand, if it's a "Never going back to original"you could strip the vintage and sell off the bits you don't want to finance your mods.

Whatever you do, share your photos of the before during and after mods. I'm sure everyone would love to see them and you might inspire someone to follow in your footsteps.

Here's my Jackal.
I bought my Jackal intending to make it into a cafe racer, but I soon found the California to be perfect the way it was. (after stripping off the touring saddlebags and fly screen.) I didn't have the heart to meddle with perfection. I was smitten. I love the Jackal, but more importantly, I am in LOVE with it.
..... so It became (my version of) a Bobber.
It's been a long time coming,.... but here's the transformation of my Moto Guzzi California Jackal into a Cafe Racer,......... or a bobber.
