I have bought my third Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans this one is a 1982 mark 111
I was told it was a great runner but after arrival I can't get the thing to run on two cylinders.
have done lots of work on Guzzi's in the past and thought I knew them inside out.
So far I have replaced the fuel, New BP6ES NGK plugs , set the valve clearances, Original air cleaner element filthy so took it out until the new one arrives ... Disassebled and cleaned out carbs, checking the float levels, noticed it has 140 main jets bigger than specified but it has Staintune exhausts so maybe that's why .. . Checked and set the contact breaker points in the Distributer, cleaned fuel filters in tank and side of carbs.
I'm running out of things to check and looking for suggestions please ... Today I'm going to swap the coils over to see if problem goes from left cylinder to the right cylinder. Could it be a badly worn distributer bike has 160,000 km's on her ... Or anything elsse I should check. Spent four days on it and still can't get her to run on two cylinders right cylinder running okay but left cylinder only fires every now and then misfires and backfires ... Could it be a badly worn Dizzy or worn carb slides maybe
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer
