Hi... Has anybody fitted a centre stand to a 1200 Breva? I'm assuming it's the same as the Norge, so all I need to do is buy the parts from the Norge parts list, is this correct?

Note that there are two types of stands available, one for the USA, and one for the rest of the world. I have one of each, and prefer the added stability offered by the USA version.

Dave, any difference in ground clearance? If the Euro version has signficantly better ground clearance, that would be important. Maybe more so than "stabiltiy", unless it's really bad in that regard.

Thanks guys, I am going to drop by my dealer and have a look underneath a Norge (that I think is still in there), as I'm struggling to see where the stand brackets fit up to the existing structure....

No luck on having a look, they've sold the Norge, most inconsiderate of them!!

So I've ordered the Stand kit, it can't be beyond the wit of man to work out how to fit it..........

Sorry Bob and others I've misled. Brain fade. I was thinking side stand. Duh!

Dave, so you can attest that the USA stand just fits? Todd checked out long ago for me, and gave me pricing for the stand and for some fixation plate, without being able to say whether I'd need both.

I'm also looking at replacing my centrestand. I apparently managed to distort it beyond what can be restored. Bummer, guess I'll have to stop trying to turn the bike while on the stand!

Rene, not sure what your question is, but Todd has my USA Breva at his place, so I'd go back to him to get the oil. I've never had the two Brevas side by side.

Alternatively, if you look at the Breva parts manual on my website,

http://www.guzzigander.com/Files/V1100_2005_Parts.pdf

you will see on page 2 the USA and rest of world sidestands shown side by side. The plates look different to me.

Hope this helps.

Dave, it never occurred to me you had 2 bikes, one in each "side stand realm" — I thought you had both for a single bike.

Thanks for the link, I think I'd never seen this in the Norge parts manual. The plates are indeed different, clearly designed to obtain the right angle with the stand deployed. Bummer!

(Should try to find a good-condition pair from a totalled bike...)
