Giving the bike a bath on the weekend, I notice the top outside bolt on the RHS swing arm was out about 5mm. I tightened and then checked the other 3 and found they were as good as finger tight also.

I'd had the bike serviced at 20,000k's and it's now done 22,300. I don't know how long it has been like this and can only assume vibration the culprit but it might be worth checking.

Thanks for the reminder. I agree, it is a good practice to go over our bikes to check for any loose screws or nuts periodically.

Pete Roper suggested it may have been as a consequence of the rear tyre being fitted which it was at last service. The Bevel Box removed for easier access and then bolts not tightened properly. That seems a likely scenario in this case and considering who fitted the tyre.

I can't imagine taking the bevel box off to remove the tire. That makes no sense unless it was one of the bikes that had no grease and they had trouble getting it off. Mine was greased and came off very easy.
