Just got it firing!
Here's a belated update for anyone that may care:
Son applied for his title inspection and received a scheduled date after 5 weeks. The scheduled date was 2 weeks away, so a total of 7 week wait. Of course it passed the inspection, his title came in the mail 2 weeks later, total wait 9 weeks. He put insurance on the bike and registered it the next day, and I had the NYS safety inspection done that same day while he was at work. He had to replace the spark plug ends and plugs, other than that it's been flawless. He is just now about ready for the 600 mile service. We'll do that service here at home, partly because it is a salvaged bike and we're somewhat stranded from a factory warranty, partly because we both prefer to do our own work. It's been a joy to go for rides with him. Here's a couple photos from our very first ride together.
