I noticed a little oil weeping from my CPS .I recall on the old site this was a bit tricky in setting the air gap . I noted in the parts manual there's a bunch of different size gaskets for shimming.Does anyone have knowlege in setting this gap? Thanks

Air gap for the cam position sensor is 0.7-0.9mm. If set properly from the factory, just remove the sensor and put a little goo around the o-ring to seal it up again. I use a stingy amount of clear RTV to seal these up, or replace the o-ring and don't use anything to seal it, you choice. It will not change the air gap. To measure the air gap, use a vernier caliper. Insert the rod into the hole to contact a cam tooth and take that measurement to the block. Next measure the length of the sensor. The sensor should be (with shims) 0.7-0.9mm shorter than the depth to the gear.

Ill go with the goop method.I have some Hylomar . But while I have it out Ill check the dimensions for learning curve. Thanks again.

Um, I think you mean the CAM sensor? Unless you have an EV w/p8 CPU... there is no oil behind the crank sensor.

Yea my mistake . I dont think there is a crankshaft PS. At least I didnt notice it in the ECU diagram . Phase/revolution sensor is what they call it in the parts manual and crankshaft PS in the Service Manual .Well , thanks for the help
