Dashboard menu problem

I was having a look see around the air filter earlier on. To make access easier I disconnected a lead for a few minutes. When I had finished I reconnected it and the dash lit up as if it was booting up from new.

Now the time is 0:00 and needs setting. No problem I thought... Wrong! The menu for the settings is no longer available. I can select trip 1, trip 2 and the heated grips menu so I know the switch is working but I cannot get to the menu to go in to the time and so on.

Any pointers would be appreciated...

Once you get to the heated gtip menu (by toggleing the menu switch in the direction of the headlight) toggle the menu switch in the opposite direction, or said another way , towards the direction of the handle bar end. This is how my menu selection works and not how the owners manual descibes, may work for you.

Somethings definitely up with it. That has not worked. Its approx 2 hours on and the time is still at 0:00.... I wonder if the dash has reset and it needs the key code or something like that... The engine starts ok though so the immobiliser is working ok...

Very weird...

Unplug and re plug just to make sure the connection seated properly. I find holding the switch just a little longer will get into the "diagnosis" mode and then make sure you depress the button after you set your info just like some car radios require. The time delay and the back and forth within the "modes" seem a little vague compared to my BMW due to the design of the switch and its feel/lack thereof  . I find the directions on the functions are accurate in the owner manual, but I did have to read them a couple times and practice some of them as I was "locked" out too.

Good luck, hope it gets sorted with a simple fix.
Cheers

After a power disconnect the clock will always read zero until you set the time.

As mentioned, when you get to the grip heater menu, try left or right on the switch.

When my Stelvio was new, the switch was crap. I had to try multiple times to get it to go left or right. After a few weeks of working it, it cleared up. I assume the switch was a little corroded from sitting. Maybe you just need to work it some.

Yep, dodgy switch... After wiggling it around a while it eventually sorted itself out

Thanks for your pointers..
