It's a 2001 V11 sport. All stock as far as I know.
I just bought it 3 days ago.

Runs well, valves a little loud, everything else as expected.

When I start the bike after it's been parked overnight or for many hours, it starts just fine.
But if I stop after riding for a while, and then try to start the engine after a few minutes, like if I stop for gas for example, or stop at a store, I have the worse trouble getting it started again.

Choke off, choke on, throttle, no throttle etc etc. I tried a bunch of combinations but is just turns over and over and wont start. It always takes me 7 to 10 tries before the engine finally comes to life and I'm worried that eventually, I'll get stuck at some remote place with a dead battery.

So... What should I be looking at? this is certainly not normal...

Start by having the valves adjusted, throttle bodies syncronized, and TPS set correctly. You will need VDSTS or be very good with a multi meter to set the TPS. MPH had all the DVM readings but the information seems to have disappeared again.

I know this post is a bit old but I have ahad a similar issue from time to time. I have read by others that said the issue is related to the location of the external fuel pump being located close to the left hand cyclinder. Not sure if this is your issue or not? Some have re-located the pump and later model V11's switched to an internal fuel tank location.

Regards,
Bob
