Hey guys. I'm back with another dumb issue. I'm in the middle of an oil change and I can't find my oem dipstick. See, I replaced it with an aluminum a while ago but I know the marks don't match up.

Does anyone have the measurements of their oem by chance? If someone could measure theirs from the threads, down to both marks and post, I'll make a donation to this site.

Thanks

These bikes do best with about 250 to 300ccs less than specified. Any more and you pump oil to the airbox. Put in about 3.3 liters, then run the engine. Let the oil settle and then mark your dipstick to that level.

When I took off filter and released oil from banjo bolts, not a lot of oil came out. It filled about 3/4 of an inch of a milk jug. Using my aluminum dip stick, there's like a 1/4" of oil in it but this dipstick is longer than original. I'm afraid of overfilling if I put 3.3 liters in it...

Milk Jug? is that 600ml jug, 1 litre jug ??, as John said 3.3 ltrs is more than enough. (I've never put more than 3.3 ltrs in the bike and that includes priming the oil filter)

Did you remove the drain plug? And why remove the banjo bolts? That is just asking for a leak in the future. Drain plug removal will drain her.

Questions, questions, How did you loose the dipstick? Do they still have a Bike Show at the Sugar Grove Ice Cream Social? I have a trophy from 3 wheel class.
Do you want to dip it or screw it in?

I moved and I have no idea where I put some of my Griso parts.

Wow, I'm such an idiot. I read the service manual backwards. Off to remove oil drain plug...damn. I'm usually not that dense.

Not sure about any icecream social in SG. Might be gone. They do a car show at the Corn Boil.

Still need specs for dipstick. I know you check with it resting on threads.

Someone on Facebook saved the day!
15.5 cm High to 18.5cm Low from from under the cap. Minus 1.5 for the threads and it looks like 14cm-17cm.
